Course Synopsis:

What you pay attention to has power. That is true for also for your health & well-being. In this workshop we tap into your innate wisdom and integrate body, mind, emotions, and spirit with beautiful and healing energy. Rejuvenate yourself, your life, your relationships …

We start with the lower body , move to the upper body, then integrate both in our final session. (Sessions are on-going and repeat sequentially, so you can join whenever it fits your schedule).

We include asana (posture), breath, focus, relaxation as yoga becomes our medicine and we begin to heal body, mind, and spirit.

About Gabrielle & her teachings:

A yogini for over two decades, Gabrielle has been a teacher since 1998. Initially, she came to yoga to heal a number of long-standing injuries that affected her body. Teaching is an integral part of her own practice. She loves it.

As a teacher, she is strong and positive and creates confidence and awareness in the students. The sequences she teaches meld breathing, movement, inward focus, and deep relaxation. This practice affords the body a wonderful workout that builds strength, flexibility and balance.

Education and Training

  • Yoga Teacher Training Certificate, Sivananda Yoga Ashram, Val Morin, Canada, 1998
  • On-going yoga education through workshops on topics such as the knee, the shoulders, inversions, and pranayama
  • Registered Yoga Teacher, Yoga Alliance
  • Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and yoga philosophy
  • Certified in Shiatsu Massage
  • Her personal practice today is Ashtanga yoga
  • She specializes in working with injuries
  • She also holds a Master’s Degree in History and has worked in non-profit medical research for eight years

Teaching experience

Teaches public and private classes and workshops in San Francisco and sometimes at retreat centers. She has taught beginning and intermediate level classes at the Sivananda Vedanta Center in San Francisco, California, as well as intermediate and advanced classes at SF Ashtanga, Adventurous Woman, & The Yoga Studio Mill Valley.

In 2000 she founded Yoga 9 to 5™, designed to bring yoga into the workplace to people who ordinarily would not seek out yoga: people with medical conditions and other personal challenges.

She designed off-the-mat programs, which aimed to help participants to live in their bodies. There were many other ancillary benefits, of course.

Yoga 9 to 5™ clients included banks, insurance companies and law firms and the programs were successful. An audio CD that compliments the programs exists and is available for purchase at $15 plus shipping.

She retired Yoga 9 to 5(TM) in 2004 and continues the work through workshops.
