Stress & You
Reality is the leading cause of stress amongst those in touch with it. -- Lily Tomlin
What you must know about stress!Pressure and anxiety is a part of all of our lives. We experience good and bad forms of it.. We actually need some of it to learn, to grow, and to stay stimulated and vibrant. Too much pressure and anxiety affect us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Keep in mind that everybody responds differently to different stressors. What we refer to as being stressed, stressed out, or burned out generally points to the inability to cope with the situation or circumstances we find ourselves in. Many stressors are external, even the ostensibly positive ones, such as getting married, having a baby, or getting a promotion at work. And yet, they all have internal and physical effects and can lead to undesirable behaviors, such as overeating, drinking, and smoking. Many of these behaviors also point to imbalances in
diet and nutrition
, in disturbed
sleep
, in
pH
, in sufficient and good
water
intake, plenty of
excercise
, as well as imbalances due to
prescription drugs.
About the physical effects of stress: Your body has a specific and powerful response to pressures and anxiety. It puts out stress hormones to enable itself to cope with situations and circumstances at hand. That is an excellent response in small doses; it is one that wreaks havoc when continuously activated. Essentially, these hormones can destroy the body and mind by altering it's chemistry.
The Best Approach to Stress is to Prevent It in the First Place.
